Work Experience:

Co-Founder and Director, EditWest, Seattle, WA
Director, Quarter Moon Consulting, Somerville and N. Truro, MA, and Portland, OR
Established Quarter Moon Consulting in 1992, and expanded it into EditWest in 2000. Both firms specialize(d) in writing, editing, and design for traditional and new media. Contracts have included websites, articles, and newsletters. In the last several years, my business writing has included profiles for the Oregon Symphony, the budget narrative for Multnomah County, and sentence correction exercises for TestWell (a GMAT- and LSAT-preparation firm at Harvard College). My most recent website was for sculptor Paul Bowen. I've acted as the primary external web consultant to the Portland Development Commission, and I've designed relational databases for the Entrepreneurship Center at MIT. My largest project was for the Sloan School of Management at MIT, where I designed the student and faculty databases, wrote manuals to accompany them, and assisted in the development of the original web server. As a member of the Provincetown Design Group, I was a developer and copyeditor for the businesses, arts organizations, and nonprofits of Provincetown.com between October 1995 and December 1996.
